Tyler grew up in Humboldt County located in the very northern part of coastal California. He grew up playing baseball, soccer, and basketball. Once in high school, he focused primarily on baseball, helping lead the team to the winningest season in his high school’s history. Following high school, Tyler played three years of college baseball in which he was his team’s captain for two of those years.

 

After sustaining a shoulder injury, Tyler transferred to California State University Chico where he completed his degree in Exercise Physiology. While at Chico State, he took interest in biomechanics where he took part in the university's lab working with force plates and motion capture with high-speed cameras.

 

Tyler continued his education by receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Utah. Tyler has worked with athletes of every level from youth to the Olympic level through both his clinical rotations as well as his former workplace. Tyler has also coached varsity high school baseball leading his old high school to its first league title in 50 years. Due to having a career ending injury, Tyler has a passion for injury prevention as well as proper return to sport rehabilitation to help mitigate further injuries.
